October, 2014 Project

Chris called the meeting to order with 14 members present. Lisa gave the Treasurer’s report.
Old Business: Bead Affair Committee. Chris reported that the committee will meet again Sept. 29th. The website is ready to go live later tonight. Lori asked that members go to the website and let her know if there are any links that are not accurate, or if there are any issues to fix. The website is  They still need people to teach classes at the event.
Bead Retreat was held last weekend and it was a huge success. Fun was had by all! We enjoyed hearing some stories about the weekend. Plans are in the works to book the cabin for the same weekend next year. Lisa will check on the availability of the cabin.
Lincoln Bead Bazaar will be on October 18th, 2014 at 3901 North 27th St., The Conference Center. Hours are 9 AM to 4 PM. 
A discussion was held on the possibility of bringing in a national teacher next year. There were suggestions by several members. Cindy agreed to head the committee and do some research on a few prospective teachers.
New Business: Nomination of officers were held as follows; Lisa agreed to remain the Treasurer, Sheri was nominated for President, Chris as vice-president, Cindy will remain a Librarian and co-librarian will be Lori, Mary W. as secretary. Nominations were seconded by Joni. Voting will take place in October.
Show & Tell was followed by members working on jewelry items to be donated to the Edna Perkins project.
Cindy brought examples of the October project, a beaded snowflake. Supply list includes size 11/0 seed beads in one or two colors, a 14mm Rivoli, superduos, size 8/0 seed beads in one color & 22 4mm fire polished beads, along with beading thread and needle.
